AUMS is seeking to employ a highly capable, experienced, and proficient Auto Electrician and Senior Mechanic. This is a Fixed-Term position with a highly competitive work roster at Sibika underground Project at Newmont Ahafo Mine.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for diagnostic fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems, carrying out breakdown repairs, and servicing underground heavy mining equipment as guided by the immediate supervisor and/or trainer.

Responsibilities
- Ensure maintenance and servicing of mobile equipment is carried out efficiently safely and on-site.
- Carry out scheduled servicing of mobile equipment in a safe manner and follow company documentation.
- Utilize skill and experience to create minimum downtime on machinery and maximize productivity.
- Ensure accurate recording of maintenance data and specifications is achieved.
- Read and interpret Service and Spare parts manuals
- Report all equipment faults to the Maintenance Supervisor/Foreman scheduling into the workshop.
- Ensure site and maintenance procedures are maintained.
- Assist with training of new employees to increase skill levels on site
- Work with the workshop personnel to plant work for the oncoming shift
Qualification Required & Experience
- Mechanical Technician part II, III/HND Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent with previous experience in carrying out auto electrical repairs on underground equipment
- Strong background working with underground mobile mining equipment, including CAT, Normet, Sandvik, and Volvo

- Minimum of 3 years experience on underground machines
- A high degree of skill in troubleshooting and fault finding on mining equipment
- Competent with auto electrics, hydraulic circuits and diesel engine maintenance
- Willingness to learn to improve skills and gain further experience with mobile equipment
- Valid Driving license C/E
- A basic understanding of the mining environment and equipment utilised
- Good supervisory, analytical and organisational skills
- Must be a good and effective communicator
- Ability to follow instructions in accordance with AUMS protocols, standards, and policies to ensure all EHS&T operational and compliance requirements are met

Eligible candidates will be selected after the interview process and evaluated for suitability in terms of behavioural characteristics, organizational fit, capability to work with the relevant complicity of work, and ability to establish and maintain a positive and engaging culture with all stakeholders.
