  • REPORTS TO: Head of Finance
  • LOCATION:Haatso- Accra. It is however important to note that based on expansion plans, the job holder can be transferred to any other Branch/Location or Department at any other time when the need arises.

JOB PURPOSE

The Logistics Officer will be responsible for general management of all the vehicle owned by Transitions and ensure efficient use of same.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keep register of all the vehicles
  • Ensure timely general servicing of all vehicles when due
  • Keep record of insurance and roadworthy renewal dates of all the vehicle and ensure renewals are done at least three (3) working days prior to expiry dates
  • Manage vehicle trackers to ensure all drivers comply with road traffic codes as prescribed by law and as set out by the Business
  • Manage and ensure efficient use of fuel cards
  • Carry out daily vehicle inspection and oil level checks
  • Provide weekly fleet report to Head of Finance
  • Manage a schedule of driver licenses and prompt renewals
  • Claim processing for accident vehicles
  • Provide quarterly report on the performance of Service Providers (repair shops)
  • Recommendation for driver recruitment
  • Ensure full compliance to transport policy by all drivers (Staff and outsourced)
  • Develop initiatives to ensure and monitor proper driver behaviors
  • Coordinate regular training support for drivers (road safety, customer service etc.)
  • Coordinate SLAs with outsourced hearse vendors and ensure compliance
  • Maintain vehicle movement lodge book
  • Manage fuel card and ensure efficient use of fuel
  • Manage and control the keys of all unassigned official vehicles
  • Make recommendation for the purchase and disposal of vehicles
  • General Stock Management – Trading Stock
  • Ensure caskets all outgoing caskets for the week are issued out at least 2 days prior
  • Ensure monthly stock take per approved process
  • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by Supervisor

Required Skills or Experience

  • 1st Degree/HND qualification from a relevant accredited institution in Auto Mechanic. Any other professional qualification though not a key requirement will be desirable
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Experience in the funeral services industry will be an advantage
  • Must have demonstrated good/ethical behavior over the years
  • Must possess valid driving license and having some driving experience
