The Cocoa Abrabopa Association (CAA) is an independent cocoa farmer Association established for serious Ghanaian cocoa farmers. The Association is a non-political, non-profit organization seeking a Better Life for its members by professionalizing cocoa farming. The association has over 60 field staff involved in different operational activities.

CAA is Rainforest Alliance Certified and has an Internal Management System to ensure compliance with the standards. As part of the standards additional verification activities need to be carried out in the operational areas of the association.

Job Description

The Internal Auditor is stationed in one of the cocoa regions which will be appointed at a later stage. The candidate will travel to farmer communities and the district warehouses.

Frequent travels to Kumasi is necessary for reporting, system verification and periodic meetings. The Internal Auditor is reporting directly to the Chief Finance & Operations Manager.

Daily duties and responsibilities:

  • Carries out audits as per the agreed audit plan established in collaboration with the Chief Finance and Operations Manager;
  • Verifies members with all biodata compared to registered data in the database of CAA;
  • Verifies physical stocks at district warehouses, farmers, collector shed and the CMC Take Over Centers and compare with traceability documentation such as primary waybills, secondary waybills, good receive notes, farmer passbooks and uploads in database software at CAA head office;
  • Verification of mapped farms (polygons) and GPS coordinates taken by field staff;
  • Verify Internal inspections carried out by field staff;
  • Verification of actual premium payment to members;
  • Follows and audit all Standard Operations Procedures and IMS Standards;
  • Prepares periodical reports to Finance & Operations Manager;
  • Any other task assigned by the Chief Finance & Operations Manager.

Required Skills or Experience

  • The Internal Auditor is a detailed-oriented professional who uses analytical skills and follows all procedures to ensure that all internal processes are followed according to the policies;
  • The Internal Auditor has a bachelor degree, a minimum in auditing, financial controlling, agribussines or any other related study;
  • The Internal Auditor has a minimum of 3 years experience in the cocoa sector in Ghana;
  • Candidates with specialized supplementary experience have a plus;
  • Candidates should have a license and proven track record for usage of a car;
  • The candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • The candidate should possess computer skills and is able to independently create digital reports;
  • The Internal Auditor is able to work and live in rural deprived communities for at least 80% of the time;
  • The Internal Auditor is able to show a criminal check certificate;
  • The candidate should be fluent in English writing, reading and speaking;
  • The candidate should be fluent in the Twi language. Any other local language is a plus
