Tullow Oil is looking to appoint an Operations Procurement Lead on a permanent basis. The role will be based in Accra, Ghana. The Operations Procurement Lead will be responsible for managing a high performing Procurement Team, ensuring compliance with business processes and policies. The individual will provide oversight and governance on all procurement activity and support the implementation of Tullow’s Transformation Project.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has worked in a similar role previously enjoys working collaboratively and has excellent communication skills.

The Successful Candidate Responsibilities include:
- Through supervising, coaching, and mentoring, continuously develop and improve the skills and ability of all personnel within the Operational Procurement Team.
- Oversee the development, approvals, and implementation of all procurement strategies.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of an accurate procurement plan that provides a 3-year look-ahead of activity.
- Ensure the company direction of maximising local content and its delivery is clearly implemented in all procurement strategies and subsequent contracts.
- Accountable for the development, compilation and conduct of procurement strategies, invitations to tender, and contract awards, and for ensuring all such procurement activity is compliant with Group C&P processes and procedures.
- Ensure governance and compliance obligations are fully addressed and documented.
- Ensure effective administration of contracts through to contract close out.
- Ensure adequate support to contract owners and budget holders in support of the end-to-end contracting process and post contract award management, contract interpretation and administration matters.
Education
- A minimum of bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, commercial, or related discipline. CIPS certification will be an advantage.

Skills
- Extensive experience in C&P or commercial focused discipline.
- Knowledgeable in the end to end contracting process, including strategy development, sourcing, contract administration/management.
- Skilled in ensuring the 5-rights of procurement are achieved (quality, quantity, price, place, time).
- Preferable to have oil and gas experience or other relevant industry with substantive exposure to all disciplines and issues within the supply chain.
- Complete understanding of legal and commercial issues within supply chain.
- Negotiate legal/commercial points associated with contract drafting. Liaising with other functional support when required (legal, risk, tax, finance, treasury).
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with diverse business drivers and variables.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously prioritizing activity to meet operational demands.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proven capabilities to perform as a team player but equally comfortable working as an individual contributor.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
