- Position Vacant: Pharmacist

- Location: Kasoa (Central Region)

Sanford Health-Ghana is seeking immediate employment, an experienced and self-motivated individual to join its team of healthcare providers as a Pharmacist on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will work as the head of the Pharmacy Unit.
Job Summary
The Pharmacist interprets provider orders, provides drug information and counselling of clients, partakes inward rounding, assists in problem-solving, and provides other aspects of pharmaceutical care. Duties consist of unit dose dispensing, IV medication reconstitution education, serving outpatient prescriptions, navigating the electronic medical record.

The Pharmacist utilizes appropriate age-related patient information to assess the pharmaceutical needs of patients, which may include the provision of pharmaceutical care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The Pharmacist follows all established regulations and standards that govern the practice of pharmacy in Ghana.
Must be able to learn and utilize new technology as the profession of pharmacy evolves. Provides oversight and clinical supervision for pharmacy services and pharmacy support personnel.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide quality pharmaceutical care to clients in the health facility in accordance with the Standards of Pharmaceutical Care and accompanying Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and Guidelines for Pharmaceutical Services.
- Provide medicines information, advice and counselling services to other health staff and patients /clients to enhance therapeutic outcomes
- Ensure strict adherence to SH-GH dangerous drugs policy
- Ensure the safe and secure storage and handling of medicine in the clinic and pharmacy.
- Promote the activities of the Drug and Therapeutics Committee (DTC) and Rational Use of Medicines (RUM) in SH-GH.
- Ensure that quality, safe, efficacious and affordable pharmaceutical products and devices are supplied to patients /clients.
- Ensure the efficient collection, storage, processing and utilization of data in pharmacy to inform management and clinical care decisions.
- Undertake central intravenous additives services in accordance with the level of care in SH-GH
- Reconstitute sterile and non–sterile products and drugs for use of SH-GH
- To participate in approved operational research in pharmaceutical care with a view to disseminating the results.
- Participate in the provision of clinical/ward pharmacy services with the healthcare team in SH-GH
- Aid procurement team in finding best quality and priced drugs
- Apply appropriate store keeping techniques for ensuring constant availability of medicines
- To ensure optimal storage conditions of all drugs.
- Report on Adverse Drug Reactions using appropriate forms.
- Participate in pharmacy council meetings

Required Skills or Experience
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
- Must be registered with the Pharmacy Council of Ghana and in good standing

- Computer literacy and web application
- MUST be willing to use his/her license to register the Clinic Pharmacy
