An exciting job offer exists in Voltic Ghana Limited for a Microbiologist. Voltic (GH) Limited, has been known for manufacturing of the leading premium water brand in Ghana for over two decades. Currently, Voltic (GH) Limited has expanded its portfolio to cover carbonated soft drinks and Value-Added Dairies.
This role reports to the GMP Technologist in the Manufacturing Function. The job incumbent will be responsible to lead and conduct the Quality Microbiology team to ensure products safety, plant hygiene, and to give feedback to users and management.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Manage analysis and reporting of micro results and other micro-processes
- To provide accurate, reliable, repeatable results to customers, (Production, supply chain etc)
- To attend to critical out of spec results/ emergency assignments as assigned by the Quality Control Manager

- Prepare Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports.
- Support the team to improve on micro issues and productivity.
- To be involved in any plant investigation into micro issues Optimize team performance
- Facilitate effective team dynamics
- Implement performance management
- Communicate effective in the workplace.
- Facilitate team problem solving Manage fixed and variable costs
- Ensure consumable usage is within budget and sufficient stocks are held
- To ensure overtime costs are within budgets Maintain safety standards and House keeping
- To provide safe working environment and laboratory safety measures
- Ensure all Micro procedures have Health and Safety issues highlighted and all staff are trained and monitored against standards
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety within the Micro lab. Manage Human Resource and Administration
- Develop employees
- Ensure staffs are trained against standard operating measures
- Manage and apply human resource processes
- Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND MEASURES: KEY PERFORMANCE AREA MEASURE Quality Performance
- Accurate, reliable, repeatable results to customers, (Packaging, Blowing, Utilities, Distribution and Supply Chain)
- Ensures products meets specification (microbial contamination prevention)
- Ensures samples for external analysis are dispatched on the due date
- Quality Index
- IQMS parameters
- Facilitate food safety training for employee when due Problem solving
- Completed 5 why’s Health, Safety and Environment
- Adherence to PPE policies
- General laboratory housekeeping
- Identification of unsafe practices
- Safety inspections conducted
- Ensure all lab procedures have health and Safety issues highlighted and all staff are trained and monitored against the standards.
