Applications are invited from qualified applicants for appointment as Project Finance Manager at Kintampo Health Research Centre, Kintampo, Bono-East Region.
- Job Title: Project Finance Manager
- Type of Appointment: Full-Time Contract.
- Duration: One (1) year (renewable)
- Reporting Line: Reporting to the Director, KHRC through the Head of Finance as well as collaborating with the other Finance, Project Managers, and Admin team to ensure effective financial support, grants management, and budgeting.
This position oversees the financial assessment, budget preparation, financial monitoring, risk management, donor reporting, and all financial and management accounting duties.
The applicant should demonstrate experience and competence in budgeting, project accounting, and financial reporting procedures for large, complex aid-funded projects and efficient systems for managing multiple projects.
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide support in the preparation of the budget and cash flow for projects and program implementation and prepare budget tracking analysis and determining variance analysis.
- Effectively control income, cash flow, and expenditure
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and adherence to donors’ financial policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Prepare accurate, regular, and timely financial reports for submission to KHRC management and the donors as may be directed by the head of finance.
- Prepare accurate and timely bank reconciliation statements, accounts payable, and account receivables, and other reports for submission to donors, KHRC management, and internal and external audit purposes.
- Efficiently manage payroll and monthly local statutory returns such as PAYE, withholding taxes, Pensions, etc.
- Work closely with the program team and support other staff for the effective operation of KHRC finance and project activities.
- Support the finance staff in preparation of vouchers, cheques, and receipts
- Support in managing project assets and stock items, ensuring a satisfactory level of accountability and internal control at all times.
- Provide quality control checks ensuring that all valid financial transactions are entered into the accounting systems.
- Follow up with all outstanding advances to ensure timely and proper retirements.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external auditors, suppliers, banks etc.
- Any Other duties that may be assigned by the Director, Management or the Head of Finance from time to time.

Required Skills or Experience
- A minimum of first degree in Accounting or Finance with Project Management background.
- Must also have at least 4 years of relevant working experience with non-Governmental organizations or research institutions, with skills in project management, Sage Evolution software, Microsoft excel, words, and power-point.
- Good knowledge of internal control systems, financial audit processes, grant management systems, and accounting procedures for multi-project management is essential.
