The Plant Manager at Japan Motors assures the build quality and integrity of vehicles produced in the manufacturing processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Develop VAD Production strategy, in support with the manufacturing strategy
- Involved in developing & implementing a Manufacturing strategy
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Corporate Governance, legislation & industry standards to minimize risks
- VAD budget accurately compiled
- VAD budget reported & monitored monthly & remedial actions taken to address variances
- Overhead budget accurately compiled & implemented according to set parameters
- Overhead budget reported & monitored monthly & remedial actions taken to address variances

- Ensure cost control according to forecasted budget & set parameters
- Ensure compliance with set quality standards and specs through monthly audits
- Ensure accurate tracking of product satisfaction index (PSI) to improve market competitiveness
- Manage key performance commitment items of leadership team to ensure achievement of departmental objectives
- Maximise and fully develop current latent potential of employees
- Recruit, select and retain competent employees according to world-class standards
- Manage Industrial Relations according to company policies & procedures
- Ensure a safe working environment according to safety standards and legislation compliance
QUALIFICATION & COMPETENCIES
- Engineering (Mechanical) & MBA/ or MBA Equivalent from a recognised Institution
- 6-8 years within Automotive and Manufacturing environment, at least 5-6 years within Quality Assurance domain
- Aptitude to develop, improve and establish guidelines and standards
- Evaluate actual practice against procedure in order to identify discrepancies
- Ability to perform under pressure and maintain required standards
- Ability to keep up to date with market trends
- Understand the company’s strategic objectives and how they relate to your job
- Comply with legislation industry regulations, professional and organisational codes
- Identify areas where reengineering processes will improve systems or structures
- Manage the function by using versatility to communicate and cooperate with suppliers and
- Keep up to date with modern business practices and methods co-workers
- Able to secure results through other people through planning, organising, leading and control
- Monitor vendor/supplier recruitment and product selection
- Ensure that projects, strategies and plans remain within the budgetary constraints
- Strategic thinking
- Decision-making & problem-solving skills
