Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements
The Procurement Officer at Encyclopaedia Africana is expected to provide the Project Secretariat with professional leadership with respect to its procurement function, through planning and management of all procurement and supply activities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all procurement and related contractual actions from initiation to close.
- Supervise and coordinate policies, procedures and routines in the procurement unit
- Liaise with various units to determine their goods and service needs
- Examine tendering arrangements and other means of obtaining competitive quotations in compliance with Public Procurement Act and other related laws.
- Provide inputs in support of the preparation of the annual budget of the Project Secretariat
- Prepare periodic reports on all activities related to the Procurement unit

Qualifications/ Requirements:
- A Degree in Procurement /Supply Chain Management from a recognized Tertiary institution
- A minimum of three (3) years post qualification relevant working experience
- Knowledge of the Public Procurement Act, Public Financial Management Act 2016, and Internal Audit Agency Act
- Strong IT background is an advantage
