The Ghana Armed Forces invites applications from candidates to apply for its Army, Navy and Air Force positions.
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY FOR GHANA ARMED FORCES RECRUITMENT/ENLISTMENT 2021
Eligible applicants should:
- Be Ghanaian citizen by birth.
- Be of good character.
- Not be less than 20 years and not more than 26 years by 6th June 2021, for Regular Commission and not more than 30 years by Thursday 02 May 2021, for Short Service Commission.
- Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces standards.
- Not bonded.
- Not married (for Regular Officer Candidates only).
- Be of minimum height of 68m (5'6") for males and 1.60m (5'4") for females.
Note: For Military Police only; the minimum height for male applicants should be 1.75m (5'9") and 1.70m (5' 7") for females.
Must have the following:
- Six (6) Credit at BECE, including English and Mathematics.
- Six (6) Credits (not less than C6), including Core English and Core Mathematics.
Or
- Six (6) Credits (not less than D), including Core English and Core Mathematics.
Or
- GCE 'O' & 'A' levels: Five (5) Credits (not less than 6), including English and Mathematics at GCE 'O Level and not less than D in two subjects and General Paper at GCE 'A' Level.

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION (ARMY/ NAVY/ AIR FORCE)
1. ENGINEER CORPS
a. Architecture
In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognised University/Institution in Architecture, be a registered member of Ghana Institute of Architects and must not be more than thirty-five (35) years of age by 02 May 2021.
2. LEGAL
In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 35 years by 02 May 2021. Must have a Degree from a recognised University or equivalent Professional Institution in any of the following:
- Bachelor of Law, LLB
- Barrister at law (BL) certificate.
- Must have done Pupillage and 3 years Post Call working
3. PAY CORPS
In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 30 years of age by 02 May 2021 and must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower and Master's/MPhil Degree from a recognised University/Institution in any of the following:
- MSc/MA in Development Finance.
- MBA/MSc/MA in Finance.
4. ORDNANCE SERVICE
In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must not be more than 30 years of age by 02 May 2021 and must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower and Master's Degree or Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate from a recognised university/institution in any of the following:
- Chemistry/Biochemistry.
- Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
- Procurement and Sup Chain Mgt.

5. MEDICAL
In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a Degree in any of the following from a recognised university or equivalent Professional Institution:
a. Medical and Dental Specialists.
Applicant must have MB ChB/BDS or its equivalent from an accredited institution plus a relevant postgraduate qualification to the level of Membership/Fellowship or its equivalent from an accredited College. Applicants must have a permanent registration with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana) and be in good standing.Applicant must not be more than 40 years by 02 May 2021.
b. Medical Officers and Dental Surgeons.
Applicants must have MB ChB/BDS degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Applicants must also have a permanent registration with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana) with at least one (1) year working experience in a recognised health facility post-permanent registration and be in good standing.Applicant must not be more than 35 years by 02 May 2021.
c. Nursing Tutors
Applicants most have either MPhil in Nursing/Midwifery or MSc/MA in Nursing/Midwifery with a postgraduate certificate in Education and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana and be in good standing, with at least, one (1) year teaching experience post- permanent registration in an accredited Nursing/Midwifery institution. Applicants must not be more than. years by 02 May 2021.
d. Specialised Nurses
Applicants must have a BSc degree in any of the following specialties: Critical Care, ENT, Peri-Operative, Emergency Care, Plastics & Burns, Paediatrics, Ophthalmic Nursing, Nephrology Nursing and other specialties with at least one (1) year working experience post-permanent registration in a recognised health facility. Applicants must be in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana. Applicants most not be more than 33 years by o2 May 2021.
e. Midwifery Officers
Applicants must have either a:
- BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution with at least two years practice post-permanent registration or
- BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution and a Diploma in Midwifery (RM) with at least one (D year practice post-permanent resist ration.All must be in good standing with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.
f. Pharmacists
Applicants must have a degree in Pharmacy (B Pharm) or (PharmD) from an accredited institution and should have practised for at least one (1)year post- permanent registration as a Pharmacist.Applicants must be in good standing with the Pharmacy Council, Ghana. Applicants must not be more than 33 years by 02 May 2021.
g. Radiographers
Applicants must have a BSC degree in Radiography and should have practised for at least one (1) year post-permanent registration as a Radiographer. Applicants must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council. Applicants must not be more than 30 years by (12 May 2021.

h. Occupational Therapists.
Applicants must have a BSc degree in Occupational Therapy and should have practised for at least one (.1) year post-permanent registration as an Occupational Therapist Applicants must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council.Applicants must not be more than 30 years by 02 May 2021.
i. Health Services Administrators
Applicants must have a BSc degree in Administration (Health Services option) from an accredited institution and must have completed the mandatory national service. Applicants should also have at least one (1) year working experience post-national service as a Health Services Administrator. Applicants must not be more than 28 years by 02 May 2021.
j. Audiologists
Applicants must have an MSc degree in Audiology with at least one (1) year working experience post-permanent registration as an Audiologist. Applicants must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council. Applicants must not be more than 33 years by 02 May 2021.
K. Physician Assistants (Medical).
Applicants must have either a:
- BSc degree in Physician Assistantship from an accredited institution with at least two (2) years working experience post permanent registration or
- BSc degree in Physician Assistantship with Advanced Diploma in Community Medicine and Health with at least one (1) year working experience post permanent registration-All Must be in good standing with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana). Applicants must not be more than 33 years by 02 May 2021
l. Clinical Psychologists
Applicants must have an MPhil/MSc Clinical Psychology degree from an accredited institution plus two (2) years working experience in a recognized institution as a Clinical Psychologist post-permanent registration with the Ghana Psychological Council and be in good standing. Appl icants must not be more than 35 years by 02 May 2021
m. Respiratory Therapists
Applicants must have a BSc degree in Respiratory Therapy plus at least one (1)year working experience post-permanent registration in a recognised health facility.Applicants must be in good standing with the Allieri Health Professions Council. Applicants must not be more than 30 years by 02 May 2021.
n. Sonographers
Applicants must have a BSc degree in Sonography plus at least one (i) year working experience post-permanent registration as a Sonographer. Applicants must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council. Applicants must not be more than 30 years by 02 May 2021.
o. Biomedical Scientists
Applicants must have a BSc degree in Medical Laboratory Science/BSc Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution plus at least one (1) year working experience as a Biomedical Scientist in a Medical Laboratory facility. Applicants must be in good standing with the Allied Health Professions Council. Applicants must not be more than 30 years by 02 May 2021.
p. Certified Registered Anaesthetists (CRA)
Applicants must have either a:
- BSc degree in Anaesthesia from an accredited institution with at least two (2) years working experience post-permanent registration or
- BSc degree in Anaesthesia with Advanced Diploma in Nurse Anaesthesia with at least one (1) year working experience post-permanent registration. All must be in good standing with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana). Applicants must not be more than 33 years by 02 May 2021

6. Chaplains (ARMY/NAVY/AIR FORCE).
In addition to the general eligibility,applicants must be and have the following:
- First Degree (BA) in Theology or Religion from a recognised University/Theological Seminary/College.
- An ordained Minister of the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian, Evangelical Presbyterian, SDA and the Church of Pentecost and be recommended for
- A minimum of 4 years pastoral working experience
- Ability to speak fluent english and at least one main ghanaian language
- Not more than 35 years of age by Thursday 02 May, 2021
7. Imam
In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must be and have the following:
- First Degree in Islamic Theology (Religion) from a recognised University, Islamic Institution or College.
- An Alim Phedeen (Islamic Theologian).
- Fluent in both spoken Arabic and English Languages.
- Ability to read and write good Arabic and English
- Practised as Imam for four (4) years and be recognised by a recognised Islamic Religious Institution/Body in Ghana.
- Recommended for commission into the Ghana Armed Forces by the Head of a recognised Islamic body in Ghana.
- Not more than 35 years of age byThursday 02 May 2021
