Total Family Health Organisation (TFHO) is an indigenous Ghanaian social marketing organization duly registered in accordance with the laws of Ghana on February 1, 2017. We partner with government, private sector, and civil society is to improve the health of people living in Ghana primarily through implementation of innovative evidence-based interventions that increases access to and utilization of health products and services in a measurable and impactful way. Our key intervention areas include: Reproductive (including family planning and HIV), Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH), communicable and non-communicable diseases, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), nutrition, and malaria. Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) and social marketing remains our unique expertise. We utilize our deep insight and skills in SBCC and social marketing to promote positive social and behavior change among individuals and communities using strategies that address the interests of the people we are trying to reach, the obstacles to change and the many forces that influence behavior and choice.

Job Description
Total Family Health Organisation (TFHO) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Accountant. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in managing the finances of a multi donor project and operational analysis. The incumbent will provide fully proficient internal financial compliance work that requires independent evaluation and assessment of issues, and the use of judgment to select and apply criteria to resolve problems and make recommendations.
Reporting and relationships: The Accountant will report to the Director of Finance and Operations.
Availability: The Accountant will be expected to work a typical workweek of 40 hours plus additional hours as necessary to get the job done. Selected candidate may be required to work in the evenings and on weekends occasionally.
Essential Job Functions
- Review and provide support for all financial aspects of contract execution of Community based organization (CBO’s) or NGO partners
- Verify accuracy and compliance of expenses and expense reporting by NGO’s/CBO’s
- Enter sales receipt in Quick Books Enterprise (QBE) and Provide weekly and monthly sales report
- Reconcile inventory balances of all site in QBE monthly and Perform all inventory adjustment as required.
- Review receivable balances weekly and follow up on overdue customers to fulfil their credit obligation as per contractual terms
- Review all staff advance liquidation and enter same in the accounting system after approval
- Promote compliance with relevant USAID regulations and the organization policies/procedure
- Maintain control over the project filing systems to ensure complete and organized accounting files
- Ensure that project expenditures are adequately tracked according to budget
- Regularly prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and recommendations concerning relevant financial issues
- Provision of high levels of customer service within the program
- Provide support to the Team on any adhoc activity that may occur
- Any other duties that may be assigned.

- Effective written and verbal communication

- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of USAID and other donor regulations.
- Knowledge of an NGO operating environment

Education and Experience
- Minimum of BSc in Administration/Accounting/Finance/Economics plus level 2 of ACCA/ICA will be an added advantage or master’s in finance/Administration
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in accounting processes and procedures, preferably in a nonprofit or NGO setting
- Experience in working with an NGO
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- This position does not require unusual demands for physical effort. This position may occasionally require physical effort to lift and transport boxes or files weighing no more than 5 kilos.
- Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of places such as offices, meeting or training rooms, or commercial vehicles; e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, and/or avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals.
