Purpose
- To be the Head of the Security Unit and ensure efficient and effective provision of security for the Hospital’s property and persons staff, patients and visitors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day to day administration of the Security Unit – Planning, Organizing, Directing and Controlling of all security personnel engaged directly by KATH and from private cocmpanies to ensure that security is effectively maintained at the hospital, residence etc.
- Ensure that security
- Organize rounds of inspections on all security locations and installations
- Ensure that all security procedures and standing orders are followed
- Organizing and implementing training programs for security officers

- Conducting investigations and periodic security audits of all premises of the hospital including the designated residences
- Submit routine reports on the Unit to the Director of Administration
- Develop annual and other plans and budget
- Implement the decisions of the hospital management
- Formulate internal rules and regulations to ensure that standards are maintained and offer quiality care
- Ensure implementation of the performance appraisals system of staff in the Unit
- Organize activities aimed at achieving best security practice
- Investigate theft, palfering and assault issues and submit reports with recommendations
- Educate staff on security matters
- Report security matters to the Management
- Perform any additional duties that may be assigned by the Director of Administration or Chief Executive
Qualification Required & Experience
- A matured and experienced individual in general security matters and operations
- A minimum of First Degree in Security Specific Discipline or Psychology or sociology or general management with training and knowledge in safety and security or
- A former officer in security services not below the rank of Chief Inspector or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of MOH Security Policies and Procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of KATH administrative set up and operational procedures
- Knowledge of Health safety standards and procedures
- Knowledge in emergency operations
