Main Purpose:
To facilitate smooth and compliant accounting for all taxes, filing of tax returns, payment of taxes, supplier invoices receipt, recording in the company’s books and timely payment process and ensure timely collection of debtors balances.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and Register all incoming supplier invoices
- Check that invoices are valid acknowledge receipt
- Book invoices in the accounting system and submit for approval
- Filing of all invoices paid
- Attending to vendor queries and reconciling supplier statements

- Posting of expenses in Navision (Ledger entries)
- Accruals and Accounts Payable Booking into Navision System
- Reconcile creditor statements and investigate/resolve any queries
- Extract Customs duty (CEPS) data from NAV and prepare Duty Declaration statement for payment to the Ghana Revenue Authority
- Liaising with the clearing Agent/Tax authorities then make declarations on the duties
- Filling of Local uplifts returns (UPPF) for the periods due
- Preparation of NPA and UPPF report
- Processing of staff statutory payments, e.g. SSNIT, PAYE, Provident fund, etc
- Processing of WHT payments
- Processing VAT payments
- Filing of PAYE and SSNIT returns
- Filing of withholding tax returns and tracking of Tax credit certificates for customers
- Preparation of Monthly VAT Schedule and filing of monthly returns
- Arrange for the insurance of all company motor vehicles with the insurer through Company’s insurance Broker
- Attend to annual Internal audit with regards to matters relating to their requests and queries
- Assist with GRA Post Clearance Audit by the Customs Division (CEPS)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- At least upper second class honours degree in Accounting
- At least Higher National Diploma in Accounting or Doing the last part of Ghana accountants Certification or its equivalent
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in tax accounting and reporting, Accounts payable and related reconciliations
- Good working knowledge of Ghana tax laws and regulations
- Experience supporting and coordinating Ghana Revenue Authority audits for both direct and indirect taxes
- Good knowledge of ERP systems preferably Navision, proficiency in Ms Office (Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook)
