Job Description
AngloGold Ashanti (Iduapriem) Limited (AAIL) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated person for the role of Reliability Engineer.
Role Summary
- The purpose of the role is to plan and lead the execution of short- term reliability improvements.
- Also, proactively review maintenance data and identify opportunities to reduce cost.
Role Accountabilities
- Identify potential safety incidents related to equipment reliability and develop mitigative action plans
- Route improvement plans through the Health and Safety.

- Department as necessary for review, approval, and clarification of safety procedures.
- Mentor backups (sectional defect elimination and condition monitoring champions) by bringing them in for hands-on training in data review and analysis, meeting responsibilities, and routine reliability engineering tasks '
- Plan and lead the execution of short-term reliability improvements.
- Develop, modify and implement PdM work packages.
- Liaising with the planning and scheduling for the developing RCM based work packages.
- Develop RCM tactics that will determine the maintenance programme.
- Conduct FMECA analysis for critical spares.
- Proactively review maintenance data and identify opportunities to reduce maintenance cost and improve equipment performance.
- Monitor equipment performance on Asset Health System and take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure.
- Audit Engineering & maintenance activities and report progress.
- Compliance with the provisions or requirements of any Codes of Practice drawn up by the Mine or otherwise.
- Ensure proper performance of Risk Assessments on all tasks to be performed by persons under your control and take whatever precautions are required in terms of the outcome of the Risk Assessment.
Required Skills or Experience
Person Specifications
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with not less than three (3) years work experience in the Mining Industry or HND in Mechanical Engineering with not less than five (5) years work experience in the Mining Industry
- A registered professional engineer with Ghana Institute of Engineers would be an added advantage
- Mineral Commission Inspecting Engineer Competency Certificate

- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Ability to make sound short-term tactical decisions - quickly assembling and interpreting data to successfully action priorities.
- Strong ability to work effectively with people, including high performing professional teams.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
