Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements
The PM Water will be responsible for implementation of all water projects in the Group, working closely with the LMI Strategy team and Southern Utilities. S/he is to manage, plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of LMI water projects to enable successful launch and operation.
The PM Water will report to the MD Southern Utilities and the Head of Strategy. S/he will be responsible for a range of activities to support development and implementation of LMI water projects, including but not limited to the following:
Project Implementation.
S/he will manage implementation of all water projects within the Southern Utilities business group (of LMI) from financial close through delivery—with oversight responsibility for all material procurement, EPC/O&M contracting and construction/operational activities.

Mid-stage Project Development.
Depending on the project, s/he may be involved earlier in project structuring, working closely with the CEO, Head of Strategy and project consultants/engineers on the development of new LMI water projects—with emphasis on fieldwork, surveys, right-of-way acquisitions/negotiations, concept design of water treatment plants/pipelines and DFI financing.
Project Administration.
S/he will actively liaise with the Strategy team to ensure timely compliance with regulatory stakeholders and acquisition of all relevant permits from Water Resources Commission, EPA, Ghana Water Company and other relevant authorities, while managing project cashflow to ensure liquidity and timely payments of suppliers and other third parties to avoid project delays.
Qualifications
- Degree in civil or mechanical engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in water sector
- Experience managing big projects (>10M USD)
- 2 references as team lead/implementation manager on projects of similar size/complexity
- Self-starter; ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced setting
- On-call availability; occasional work after-hours and on weekends
