Practical Education Network is making hands-on learning the new normal in Ghanaian STEM classrooms. PEN’s curriculum utilizes locally-available materials to form activities that align with national curriculum standards. Over the last 4 years, PEN has trained 3,000+ Ghanaian teachers, 100 local-level trainers, and reached more than half a million students in this experiential approach. Our approach has been measured to enable significant gains in student attitudes and learning outcomes. PEN’s partners include MIT, Ashesi University, ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Ghana (Deepwater) Ltd, GAST, and others.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
- Strong command of the use of data tools such as SPSS, Microsoft Excel, and others.
- Significant experience using M&E frameworks and tools, including Theory of Change, log frames, and survey design.
- Strong research experience, using both quantitative and qualitative approaches
- Ability to analyze data and all other sources of information, to break them into component parts, patterns and relationships and demonstrate an understanding of how one issue may be a part of a much larger system.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong editing skills.
- Strong organizational skills
- Creativity and innovation to find effective solutions.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relationships while respecting the diversity of people and being sensitive to their needs.
- Ability to establish clear goals and to achieve desired results consistent with agreed strategies and targets.
SALARY RANGE: GHS 1,000.00 – 3,000.00 (Gross)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The candidate must either be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in development, education, science/engineering, or related field. A Master’s degree and background in STEM are strongly preferred. He/she must have strong existing experience in monitoring & evaluation, excellent people skills that can be harnessed while working remotely, and a high level of work ethic.
This is a full-time position with compensation commensurate with experience. The Officer will work, for a certain period of time, from his/her respective home and liaise with the PEN team regularly through online collaboration platforms (Slack, Trello, Zoom).
The appointment term will commence immediately.
