Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements
Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry including rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.
The BLM Surface Drilling, Boom/Rotary will be responsible for the Business Line: Surface Drilling (Boom & Rotary) in the Sales Area (SA). This includes people management where applicable, sales & profitability of the division as well as ensuring local representation of global product line focus areas and measurements. You will also be responsible for the technical and application support for the product line(s) in the SA. Knowledge of the SMRT offering, customer base and the mining industry in West Africa is required
Key Responsibilities:
As BLM, you will ensure overall support, drive common practice and generate relevant processes for the must-win major Surface Drill, Boom/Rotary projects. Specifically, you would be required to:

- Develop and execute the SA-specific strategy in line with the divisional strategy
- Conduct Competitor Analysis and identify/implement needed actions to enhance growth of market share within the SA
- Collaborate closely with Distributors, where applicable to capture early leads to enhance the SA’s chances of securing business
- Plan the business by budgeting/forecasting and follow up with relevant Product Lines
- Obtain and provide information for product development to Division/Factory and keep up-to-date with competitor activities and ensure market competitiveness .
- Apply all relevant Sales Tools databases
- Map needs and ensure delivery of relevant training for team members
- Ensure Technical & Sales support within the Product line(s)
- Evaluate and advise on go-to-market models for Product line(s)
- Implement global strategies/initiatives into the Product line in the SA
- Maintain a succession plan for key product line positions in the SA where applicable
- Responsible for pricing and price development of the product line(s)
- Accountable for the following financial KPIs: Volume, GGP, A&S, NWC & Market share
- Ensure full compliance with all SHEQ requirements
Your Profile:
- You should be a results-oriented individual with relevant Consultative and Analytical skills and sound understanding of the mining industry and its business processes.
- Very strong team player, willing and able to work with colleagues and peers across Divisions in SAWA to achieve the best outcome and maintain required flexibility and availability to attend to customers and business requirements according to the exigencies of the business.
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering
- 5+ Years’ experience in a Mining, Technical and Sales environment
- A high level of applications knowledge and sound knowledge and experience with the Sandvik product range is required.
- Technical and Business experience is required. Exposure to international markets along with strong cross-cultural awareness, particularly in remote challenging environments, is desirable.
- French language skills would be highly regarded
