Physician Assistant
Job Summary
Physician assistant will provide a broad range of services that begin with an initial patient consultation and continue with ongoing care and assessment throughout the clinical relationship
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- to examine patients to obtain information using the Standard Treatment Guidelines, make tentative diagnosis ad decisions about management and treatment of patients
- to administer or order diagnostic tests and interpret test results for deviations from normal to prescribe therapy or medication with Medical Officer’s approval,
- to perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunization suturing and wound care management
- to instruct and counsel patients about prescribe therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living and health maintenance
- provide Medical Officer with assistance during complicated medical procedures, to supervise and coordinate activities of nursing staff, medical technicians/assistants and other patients care personnel

Qualification Required & Experience
- a minimum of a degree in related field is required
- must have at least three (3) year post-qualification experience working as a Physician Assistant
- it is desirable to live in areas not far from the Clinic’s location for easy commute to work applicant must have checkable references
Medical Director, University Health Centre
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Medical Director is the head of the University Clinic and will be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the following duties;
- supervises the functions and activities of the University Clinic
- ensures that necessary drugs and other medical supplies are available at all times
- ensure that the clinic is clean and hygienic
- organize health education for students and staff
- responsible for managing the assets e.g. computers, files, furniture, cabinets, etc. under the control of the clinic
- responsible for the preparation and control of the clinic’s budget, and
- any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Vice Chancellor
- provides primary health care to staff, students and members of the University community
- serves as the clinical liaison between the health Services staff and the University community, ensuring the communication of up-to-date medical information to appropriate parties
- organizes preventive services, including medical examinations and vaccine requirement for students and staff
- work with management to initiate and review programmers and practices that are developmentally appropriate and that promote overall health wellness of the University community
- maintains professional relationships with local health care organizations and professionals to ensure access to necessary referral and consultative services
- reviews productivity and quality reports and meeting with health care team to review individual and group productivity as well as devise and implement corrective action strategies when necessary
- ensures that departments within the University Clinic meet operational goals including quality, productivity and user benchmarks
Qualification Required & Experience
- applicant must hold an MB.ChB or its equivalent
- be a qualified Medication Doctor duly registered by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council
- Applicant must have six (6) years post-qualification experience
- Must have practiced in institutions of similar standing
