We are Triva and our goal is to help individuals and businesses personalize their financial experience by providing a mobile-based financial services platform that allows them to hold and manage a digital savings account, real-time money transfers, access a large network of partners and participate in a loyalty programme.

About the opportunity

As a Backend Engineer at Triva you have the chance to empower millions of millennials in Africa. You will join a young and passionate team in a high paced environment.

What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced backend engineer who is comfortable communicating technical solutions in a clear language. We are looking for someone who:

  • Can design REST APIs.
  • Can code backend services, using Python.
  • Is able to design and build database architecture.
  • Can monitor and optimise the security and performance of the database.
  • Has strong ability to solve complex technical issues.
  • Experience with usual cloud services.

  • Believe in clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing and continuous deployment.
  • Like to take ownership of a feature from the original idea through to live.

Requirements

What you must have

  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Experience in former similar roles, working with various technical and non-technical teams.
  • A relentless drive for clean and sustainable architectures and a general attitude to get things done without supervision.
  • A product mindset.
  • Ability to make data-informed decisions.
