Drill Crew Africa (DCA) is a service provider in the mining industry in Ghana, West Africa and Globally. We focus on improving drilling efficiency for Mining Contractors and Mining companies alike. We have an extensive background in the Industry around the world as well as extensive OEM experience. We use our unique insights and knowledge to educate individual participants and whole departments and organizations in specifics as well as general process and system improvement opportunities to add value and maximise returns.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Engineer within our organization. We are looking for a mining engineering graduate to compliment our existing project staff at one of our clients’ sites in Ghana in the Central Region.
You will be working under our project leaders and liaising with our client to produce, analyse and report drilling data and information which will influence decision making and outcomes of the project directly.
About the general position:
We are looking for a person who is interested in new opportunities and working for an innovative company that likes to do things a little different than normal. We have very experienced drilling and technical staff on our team that need assistance in the daily activities to progress the job and release them to focus on other areas. The successful applicant will gain priceless experience in Drilling and Blasting operations and Mining in general that will benefit them for their entire career and even set them apart from their peers. We want someone dedicated to the cause to help grow a successful partnership with our clients.

Responsibilities will include:
- Daily input and analysis of drilling data
- Liaising with client and project staff on project status and direction
- Correlation of client data and actual events
- Producing daily, weekly and monthly drilling and project status reports
- Learning the Drill and Blast process from Project Leaders
- Act as an assistant to project leaders
- Forecasting consumables, parts etc consumption based on historical data
- Calculating impact of different operating models, for example using TIM 3D in reducing tramming time
Required Skills or Experience
Applicant should have:
- Mining or Drill and Blast engineer degree or equivalent from qualified institution
- High level of understanding of Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to work remotely on a mine site
- Able to work with limited supervision
- High level communication skills
- Ability to learn Project Management software
- Be open and willing to learn new skills
- Be able to take instruction and implement effectively
