Since 2013, Farmerline has directly helped farmers to improve their productivity and profit in Ghana and also provided technical support to other organizations to do the same. Farmerline started its operations serving 800 farmers in the Ashanti Region of Ghana with information via mobile telephony. The company has since grown to reach 340k farmers (directly & through partners).
Farmerline currently offers a complete bundle of services to farmers through direct sales and on credit. We deliver quality farm inputs to remote areas where farmers live and work. We also support farmers by providing financing for farm inputs, education in planting techniques to minimize post-harvest losses and maximize market prices. For the past 7 years, Farmerline has worked closely in partnerships with over 70 agribusinesses, government agencies, development organizations and input manufacturers that are aligned with the vision and strategic goal of creating lasting profit for farmers everywhere. Farmerline works with over 250 young people in a variety of fields, from finance to engineering, to field operations. These ambitious young people have been the main drivers behind our innovations and growth in the industry.
Role Overview
To provide strategic and operational financial advice and expertise across Farmerline in order to achieve our objectives and secure financial stability. To develop and execute finance department operating plan. To improve financial acumen and drive financial discipline across Farmerline.
Responsibilities
- Determine need for & manage production of financial reports
- Manage financial tracking systems
- Lead team of finance & accounting staff

- Act as an advisor to leadership team in relation to fundraising & investors
- Build financial models & projections
- Manage relationship with Farmerlines current & potential investors
- Work with HR to manage full payroll process
- Develop & maintain comprehensive risk management framework
- Design & manage financial controls to prevent & detect error & fraud
- Ensure 100% legal compliance and manage regular audit process
- Coach Farmerline staff on financial management
Skills & Experience
- Experience in agro-inputs distribution, commodity off-taking, and business to business transactions
- Exposure & knowledge of all methods of raising capital
- Knowledge of tax laws of Ghana required. Knowledge of tax laws of West Africa and other international jurisdiction (USA, Mauritius, Netherlands) an added advantage.
- Excellent skills in MS Excel.
- Excellent communication, presentation & report writing skills
Qualification
- Finance related degree.
- Internationally recognised accounting professional qualification
- An MBA can be an added advantage
- 6 years of progressive working experience in finance, 2 of which must be in either middle or senior level management
