Salon Supervisor

The incumbent in this position is responsible for ensuring oversight of facility operations, ensuring that customers are satisfied, managing employees’ schedules and performance, as well as working to make sure the salon is profitable. The Overall objective is to take 100% responsibility in delivering and exceeding the guests’ expectations in accordance with Resense’s spa vision, core values and all related brand standards, procedures and policies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a truly memorable experience with the highest level of comfort and service, creating a genuine, welcoming, inspiring & safe salon environment for all guests.
  • Deliver personalized, individual service to all guests in the Spa and Salon.
  • Perform hair care services including cutting, styling, blow drying, hair colouring and permanent waving, conditioning treatments.

  • To listen, consult with guests and members that accommodate their needs and achieve their goals.
  • Communicate and work effectively with the entire spa team, including spa concierges, stylists, therapists & attendants to ensure a seamless experience for the guests.
  • Fully support the Spa Director & Assistant Spa Manager.
  • To set an example at all times of the highest standards of professionalism, attitude and appearance for the rest of the spa team.
  • Be very knowledgeable of all treatments, services and operations of the spa & salon including barber services.
  • Understand and implement all Resense Standard Operating Procedures & Policies.
  • To ensure that a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the facility at all times.
  • Assist with administration duties such as, purchasing, receiving and inventory reporting.
  • To have a professional attitude at all times, particularly with regard to punctuality, appearance and general manner.
  • Ensure all employees are current with fashion trends in salon industry.
  • Promote beauty services to members and hotel guests.
  • Maintain current establishment and employee professional licenses.
  • To supervise and conduct the safety of users and equipment in the salon and receive training to ensure that all relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety and Health and Hygiene standards are implemented and monitored within the salon.
  • To assist the Spa Director in the recruitment, training, discipline and development and appraisal of all Salon staff if required.
  • To attend a monthly meeting with all spa staff to motivate and be aware of staff needs and aspirations.

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant Hairdressing certifications.
  • Recognised sales courses an advantage.
  • Previous Spa knowledge desirable
  • Five years salon management experience in an international standard salon.
  • Team leader & team player.
  • Highly accomplished & proven hairstylist.
  • Professional attitude.
  • Salon supervision skills.
  • Salon training skills.
  • Carried out VIP and journalist treatments at key events.
  • Experience in stock control and management.
  • Prepare and present monthly budget reports and take responsibility for salon P&L and costs.
  • Effective scheduling of salon employees.
  • To conduct selection interviews and trade test when required.
  • Assist with the management of the spa operations in all aspects.
  • Computer literate. (Advanced level)
  • Business writing.
  • Articulate verbal communication.
  • Self-motivated & Enthusiastic.
  • Empathetic.
  • Customer Service-oriented.
  • Good Listener.
  • Extroverted Personality.
  • Team player.
  • High level of customer service.

Other specifications : 

  • Willing to work shift hours including nights and weekends.
  • To ensure operations department maintains a positive relationship with all departments in the spa and hotel.
  • Responsible for all aspects of operations employees’ i.e. hiring, recognition, progressive corrective action.
  • Responsible for the efficient training of all salon employees in all aspects of job tasks.
  • To ensure employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel's policy relating to safety.
  • Responsible for all spa departments training in pertinent emergency procedures and ensuring all departments are well versed in Salon operations (cross training).
  • To ensure all employees adhere to all hotel standards as stated in the employee handbook.
  • To conduct salon department performance appraisals on a timely manner.
