The University of Cape Coast invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, experienced, results-oriented and highly motivated individuals (Physicians and Physician Assistants) for appointment to the under-listed academic positions in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, School of Allied Health Sciences, College of Health and Allied Sciences: Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and Professor

The positions are for:

LECTURER

Job Description (Responsibilities)

  • Successful candidates shall be responsible for teaching and research at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, supervise undergraduate projects works, plan and supervise student clinical work, offer academic counselling to students and render community service.

Qualification & Experience

Lecturer - Candidates must:

  • Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) clew., a: any of the areas of specialisation, or
  • MGCP/Fellowship (i.e. FWACS, FGCPS, FWACP etc) (to be placed on the appropriate point on the salary level)
  • Be registered Member of the Ghana Medical and Dental Council.

 

SENIOR LECTURER

Job Description (Responsibilities)

  • Successful candidates shall be responsible for teaching anu research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise graduate students research and undergraduate projects works, plan and supervise student clinical work, offer academic counselling to students and render community

Qualification & Experience

Senior Lecturer - Candidates must:

  • Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a related held after Membership
  • Have a Fellowship (i.e. FWACS, FGCPS, FWACP etc.)
  • Be a registered Member of the Ghana Medical and Dental council
  • Have at least five (5) refereed publications In area of specialisation.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Job Description (Responsibilities)

Successful candidates shall be responsible for:

  • Teaching and research on courses at graduate and postgraduate levels;
  • Supervising graduate research students' works.
  • Lead in the planning and supervision of student clinical work
  • Offering academic counselling to student.

Qualification & Experience

Associate Professor - Candidates must:

  • Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in any of the areas of specialisation, or
  • Have a Fellowship (i.e. FWACS, FGCPS, FWACP etc.)
  • Be a registered Member of the Ghana Medical and Dental Council.
  • Have not less than seven (7) publications in refereed journals since appointment as Senior lecturer or a total of twelve (12) publications in refereed journals since appointment as Lecturer.
  • Have taught in a reputable university or a comparable institution for a minimum of four (4) years as Senior Lecturer.

 

PROFESSOR

Job Description (Responsibilities)

Successful candidates shall be responsible for:

  • Teaching and research on courses at graduate and postgraduate levels,
  • Supervising graduate research students' works.
  • Lead in the planning and super vision of student clinical work Offering academic counselling to students

Qualification & Experience

Professor - Candidates must:

  • Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in any of the areas of
  • Have Fellowship (i.e. FWACS, FGCPS, FWACP etc)
  • Be a registered Member of the Ghana Medical and Dental Council.
  • Have a considerable number of years of teaching/research experience in any reputable university or a comparable institution.
  • Have at least eight (8) publications in refereed journals since appointment as Associate Professor or a total of twenty (20) publications in refereed journals since appointment as Lecturer.
  • Have taught for a minimum of two (2) years as Associate Professor.
