TRANSPORT MANAGER
Purpose
To provide coordination and supervision of the Transport Department
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages the entire fleet of vehicles in the institution
- Co-ordinates the activities of various section of department and provides adequate transport facilities or services to all staff in the institution
- Follow-up on accident matters pertaining to insurance, repair etc.
- Takes delivery of new vehicles purchased on behallf of the institution
- Advices on procurement of new vehicles
- Keeps records on all vehicles of the institution
- Provides logistics and keeps proper records on all activities of the department
- Liaises with prcurement for the purchase of parts for vehicles
- Keeps records of all insirance cases and examines the records to bring them up to date

- Arranges for fuel from oil companies for institution's vehicles.
- Coordinates the maintenance and repair of vehicles within and outside the institution
- Maintains constant link with other departments to ensure that transport logistics requirements are met
- Arranges and prepares vehiclesfor trek
- Develops and implements systems and methods for the efficient utilisation of vehicles.
- Prepares budget for the department
- Liases with regional managers for the efficient management of vehicles
- Performs any other dutim that may be assigned from time to time
COMPETENCIES
Technical Competencies
- Good knowledge of transport management and traffic regulations
- Knowledge of vehicle operationg mechanism
- Good knowlege of workshop management
- Good knowlege of fleet management
Skills
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- Excellen proficiency in relevant IT software and applications
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills
Qualifications
- First Degree in Mechanical engineering with 12 years relevant post-qualification work experience
- Knowledge in computer applications
DEPUTY TRANSPORT MANAGER
Duties & Responsibilities
To assist the Transport Manager perform his duties as set out in his/her duties & responsibilites
Qualifications
- First Degree in Mechanical engineering with 8 years relevant post-qualification work experience
- Knowledge in computer applications
