ACCOUNTANT
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible to the General Secretary through the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Finance
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Reviews, prepares and posts journal entries
- Reconciles sub-ledger to generate ledger account balances
- Plays a key role in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes
- Assist with budget preparation and monthly actual vs budget variance analysis
- Assist with assessment of internal controls, including risk assessments and review of risk areas
- Prepares and reviews task returns for various tax agencies

- Maintains and reconciled fixed asset schedules
- Provide assistance to internal and external audit functions including preparation of audit schedule
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The applicant:
- Must possess a first degree in accounting, or finance, or ICA II, or ACCA II, or CIMA II
- A masters degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field will be an added advantage
- Must have work experience as an accountant do not less than ten(10) years, three (3) years of which should be at management level
- Applicant from the Ghana Education Service must not be below deputy chief accountant
- A working knowledge in basic computer application in word excel, PowerPoint and a software in accounting will be an added advantage
